Conservative Women's Network Blogroll!
Thanks to The Blonde Conservative for indirectly helping me come to a realization.
I read her most recent article on Belinda and it occurred to me that there is no Conservative Women's Blog roll in the blogosphere (at least that I am aware of).
I sent her an e-mail proposing the idea, and she humbly replied:
"Your heart is in the right place, but I really don't need a separate blog(roll) just for women in order to make me feel equal or more supported than my male peers. I really don't feel the need for preferential treatment ... The fact that I can voice my opinion and take anyone to task on any issue on my blog makes me feel as included as I ever could be."Well I insisted, she agreed to be the inaugural entry, and I am offering to administrate the blogroll.
I think it is important for Conservative women to visibly stand together in order to make it clear to our left-wing opponents that women are equally important to the Conservative platform.
Here is to women leading this party and it's supporters through use of the written word.
Update: Does this old boys club look like a group that is all about gender equality?
Update: I came up with an image for the blogroll based on Carolyn's favorite artist's work. It's your blogroll, so if you have other ideas by all means - tell me what you would prefer.

I've always felt equally important in the Conservative Party and I sincerely hope that other female Conservative bloggers out there feel the same.
I'm with Blondie, we are all equal with no one above another.. but like she said your heart really is in the right spot!

I dunno about you, but when the Tories' only great claim to gender equality is Kim Campbell, it might be better to not mention the fact.
All I'll say about the blogroll is that while it simply amasses links of a similar relationship (just like those of BC, Alberta, Ontario blogrolls etc), it does suggest an undermining of the conservative principle of an equality of individuals. If a blogroll, why not a party amendment? Why not rigidly-forced equality? Why not a blogroll for nonwhite Tories? Gay Tories? Francophone Tories?

Well, you have a point - and I really think that was Carolyn's initial point. The thing is that Belinda Stronach seems to be on a mission to deliver a message that Conservatives and Women are like water and oil. The media is all too happy to help her.
If you are non-blogging Woman seeking information on the subject, do you think it might perhaps be comforting to know that there are plenty of Women conservatives who think differently than Ms. Stronach?
To some blogging is just a game - but, there is a growing recognition of bloggers as a source of information, a growing media presence.
If we can make an impact on the next election, shouldn't we try?

It will only be a problem for a little while..somebody almost as smart as me will decide to put together the "My Penis is Bigger" blogroll and all will be right with the world.
yah but women can buy bigger ones too so yah we can all join the "my penis is bigger" club lol
There is one thing I tell everyone, women can only fight women cause we hit below the belt and keep on ticking. If a man does it they end up in court...

I attend one of the most left wing Universities in existence....AND I'm a political science majory (obviously a Conservative on top of that as well). Not only do I get many funny looks from my peers, but I have heard from many that if I want a future in ANYTHING political, I've joined the wrong party...because apparently we don't believe in a place for women.
I hope they one day wake up and realize that's a lie.
